赵仰柴先生，西安市长安区人。其家学深厚，幼年起练 字习书，青年时逐而专致。此时又得到我国着名美术家、雕 塑史论家、美术教育家、考古美学创始人王子云先生(1897--1990是开一代风气之先的美术教育家、中国现当代著名的画家、雕塑家与美术史论家，西安美术学院教授)及其夫人文博专家何正璜先生的悉心教诲，影响至深。习书的同时，开始了书法理论的研究，以求丰富自己书法艺术底蕴。他常以于右任先生的 话“文字为人类表现思想发展生活之工具，书法为中国特有 的艺术，亦为我国古今教育要科，关系国家民族之前途至大， 不可以小技视之也 ”为镜，可见其对待书法艺术态度之严肃。在他看来，一部书法史，就是汉字书法继承和创新的歷史， 所以他是将继承和创新等同视之，才有今天的书法艺术成就 (摘自中国华文教育网)。他说，柴虽习书六十余载，先为所 逼，中途专致，后常因书艺难以长进而困 之。感慨，已虽 慎重将事，力避乖僻，终格于寡学而匠气难脱，错讹 难免，所书难当高明大雅也， 自慰为己生活之点缀矣!
